Cavotec to accelerate focus on cleantech - will invest 20 million euro to solidify leading position in expected multibillion euro market

The fast-growing market for electrification and automation of ports worldwide is estimated to be worth several billion euros in the coming years. Cavotec will invest EUR 20M in technology, engineering and business development over the next five years to strengthen its leading position and meet the expected demand. The global Cavotec team will grow by 60%, with two thirds being engineers.

In mid-2021, transport and logistics provider, SeaRoad, will be the first to put the next generation Cavotec vacuum mooring technology, MoorMaster NxG, into commercial operation. The new NxG units will be integrated with SeaRoad’s original MoorMaster systems installed in 2003.

Cavotec signs order to extend leadership in Norwegian e-charging market estimated to be worth EUR 60 million in the next five years

Cavotec has received a repeat order from Fjord1 in Norway – one of the world’s largest operators of e-ferries – to equip two new berths with its next generation Automatic Plug-in System (APS) for charging of e-ferries. The APS solution will charge three e-ferries on the Halsa and Kanestraum route.

Cavotec’s next generation Automatic Plug-in System (APS) solution for charging electric ferries has entered service in Oslo, enabling safe, fast and clean vessel charging, and highlighting our role as a leading supplier of innovative automation and electrification technologies.

The existing MoorMaster system was installed at Helsinki back in 2016.

Port of Helsinki once again selects Cavotec automated mooring for faster, safer and cleaner operations

Finland’s Port of Helsinki has made a repeat order for Cavotec’s MoorMaster™ automated mooring system as part of wider efforts to optimize safety and efficiency and reduce environmental impact. This is the second MoorMaster™ order at Port of Helsinki and follows similar orders from the Port of Turku and Port of Tallinn in recent months.

A similar system at Port of Helsinki has been in service since 2016.

Cavotec extends leadership in automated mooring with Estonia order

Cavotec’s MoorMaster™ automated mooring system has been selected for two passenger ferry berths at the Port of Tallinn in Estonia, the second order of this type for the unmanned mooring technology in a matter of weeks.
