Press release -

Cavotec invited to help shape the future of e-vehicle charging

Cavotec has joined CharIN, (Charging Interface Initiative), a network of companies developing global standards for charging battery powered vehicles. By bringing 40 years of experience in high-power electrification and connection technologies, Cavotec will help the network shape the future of e-vehicle charging focusing on applications that require high power, high speed charging.

The purpose of CharIN is to advance the combined charging system (CCS), with the aim of establishing this system as the standard for charging battery-powered electric vehicles. CCS combines the advantages of existing charging systems into one single solution that can handle any charging.

“Cavotec is a global leader in making automated high-power charging solutions both safe and accessible. By bringing these insights to CharIN, we want to play a key role in driving forward the next standard of high-power, high-speed charging for commercial and industrial vehicles thereby making them both efficient and sustainable,” says Mikael Norin, Cavotec CEO.
