Cavotec wins cable reel orders from ZPMC for crane applications in Australia, Brazil and the UK
Cavotec has been awarded three orders for cable reel systems by industrial equipment manufacturer ZPMC for port operators DP World and Patrick Terminals that will power ship-to-shore cranes at applications in Australia, Brazil and the UK.
"These projects highlight Cavotec's role as an expert supplier of advanced crane technologies, and the strength of cooperation that exists between Cavotec and its many partners," says Gustavo Miller, Cavotec Shanghai Managing Director.
One of the orders is for cable reels for ship-to-shore and rail-mounted gantry cranes for the London Gateway terminal, a major new port development located on the north bank of the River Thames run by DP World. Once complete, the facility is set to handle the world's largest container vessels and provide improved access to the UK's road and rail networks.
Cavotec is to also supply medium voltage cable and spreader cable reels for six ship-to-shore cranes for another DP World project, this time in Brazil. This application is a new joint venture between DP World and several local partners.
Cavotec has also received an order from ZPMC for medium voltage cable reels and spreader cable reels for four ship-to-shore cranes for Patrick Terminals in Australia. This is a repeat order, with five units from the initial order delivered in December 2011.
Cavotec's innovative technologies for the ports sector include MoorMaster™ automated mooring, Alternative Maritime Power shore-to-ship electrical power systems, Panzerbelt cable protection systems, marine propulsion slip rings, power chains and radio remote controls.
