The Port of Long Beach and the Port of Oakland have selected Cavotec's innovative Alternative Maritime Power systems for installation at multiple berths ensuring safe, easy and quick connection to grid-generated electrical power. This enables ships to switch of their engines while docked thus making a substantial improvement to air quality in and around these ports.
Following news in May that the US ports of Oakland and Long Beach ordered a large number of our innovative shore power systems, here is a press release detailing the most recent official opening of Cavotec AMP systems at two Stena Line ferry berths in Hoek van Holland in The Netherlands.
Cavotec has won several significant orders for its shore power systems for customers in the Far East and Europe, highlighting how the Group's innovative technologies are enabling ports and shipping lines to operate cleanly and efficiently worldwide. The total value of these orders amounts to EUR 12 million.
During 1H16 and the first weeks of 3Q16, leading engineering group Cavotec has won more orders for its innovative shore power systems with a total value of approximately EUR 11.5 million, underlining the Group’s central position in this growing segment, and the ports sector as a whole.
Cavotec and ABB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly offer complete shore-to-ship power solutions globally. Such solutions allow vessels to plug into onshore power supply and shut down their engines, eliminating noxious emissions, noise and vibrations while berthed in ports that are often located in city surrounds.
News of a number of significant orders for our advanced crane technologies from the world's leading crane manufacturers, as well as orders for its innovative shore power systems. The orders have a combined value of approximately EUR 10 million.
Global engineering group Cavotec has won orders for its innovative technologies for ports in Australia, Indonesia, Oman, Portugal and Turkey, and for two major shipping lines, with a combined value of more than EUR 11.5 million.
