Cavotec secures order with Port of Stockholm for first automated mooring system in Sweden, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 5,000 tonnes per year

Cavotec has extended its leading position in automated mooring with two major orders for its MoorMaster™ NxG system, one in Sweden – the first order for MoorMaster in a market with considerable growth potential – and the other in neighbouring Finland, where the technology is already well established.

MoorMaster replaces conventional mooring lines with automated vacuum pads.

SeaRoad selects MoorMaster® NxG™ to again expand RO/RO capacity. Second order for product launched on 27 October

In mid-2021, transport and logistics provider, SeaRoad, will be the first to put the next generation Cavotec vacuum mooring technology, MoorMaster NxG, into commercial operation. The new NxG units will be integrated with SeaRoad’s original MoorMaster systems installed in 2003.

MoorMaster moors vessels in seconds, thereby enabling vessels to use less thrust to remain in position during loading and off-loading.

More orders in Norway for Cavotec’s next generation vacuum mooring system

Cavotec has been awarded an order for its next generation vacuum mooring technology, MoorMaster™ NxG, from leading Norwegian ferry operator Fjord 1. The systems will be used with a new-build, zero-emission vessel to reduce energy consumption in port. The customer has also signed a long-term service agreement for the operator’s existing MoorMaster vacuum mooring systems and e-vessel charging units.

Cavotec wins shore power order valued at EUR 6.65 million from world-leading shipping line

Cavotec has won a 6.65 million euro order from one of the world’s largest shipping lines for shore power connection equipment for new-build container ships. Deliveries will be made between late 2023 and early 2025. The contract further strengthens Cavotec’s leading position in the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

Sweden’s next generation vacuum mooring and shore power connection enter service in Stockholm

Sweden’s first MoorMaster NxG vacuum mooring system officially entered service last week, paving the way for significant safety, operational and sustainability gains. The system, at Port of Kapellskär, part of Ports of Stockholm, is now being used with Finnlines’ new-build Ro/Pax passenger and freight vessel, Finnsirius.
