Cavotec reports news of one of its largest automated mooring projects: 24 MoorMaster™ MM200C units for a container application in the Mediterranean.
Cavotec's uniquely innovative technology for mooring for ships, MoorMaster™, is becoming increasingly widely adopted. This press release provides details of the most recent application for the technology: a container handling application on the Mediterranean Sea; the second of its kind there. MoorMaster™ now serves ferry, bulk handling, Ro-Ro, container and lock applications worldwide.
In further success for Cavotec MSL’s automated mooring system, MoorMaster™, the global engineering group is to install eight vacuum-mooring units for Hammersley Iron Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Anglo-Australian mining group Rio Tinto, at the Dampier Fuel Wharf, located on the eastern end of the Parker Point ore wharf, in the Port of Dampier, Western Australia.
Cavotec’s automated mooring technology, MoorMaster™, has been selected by Australian mining company, Karara Mining Ltd., for use at their dedicated iron ore handling facility at the Port of Geraldton in Western Australia.
Cavotec has won a contract to electrify eight rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes at DP World's Jebel Ali port in Dubai; a move that will realise significant reductions in energy costs and emissions.
Following today's news of two automated mooring projects in North America, we can also report on a breakthrough order for Cavotec MoorMaster™ in the Netherlands: the first automated mooring project in the country.
Cavotec's automated mooring system, MoorMaster, recently won the International Bulk Journal's award for safety in bulk handling, the latest in a series of awards for the innovative technology.
Cavotec’s automated mooring technology, MoorMaster™, has achieved further success with news that Australian mining company, Karara Mining, has ordered 12 MoorMaster™ units for installation at the iron ore handling facility at the Port of Geraldton in Western Australia.
Commissioning of the 14 MoorMaster™ MM200B (bulk) units at Port Hedland in Western Australia is proceeding smoothly, with full hand-over expected in the coming weeks. On September 29, the 225m iron carrier Huang Shan Hai was successfully moored and held without ropes.
Interislander, operator of one of the world's most beautiful ferry routes - between North and South Island in New Zealand - is currently celebrating its 50th year of operation. The service was also the very first in the world to introduce Cavotec's automated mooring system MoorMaster™.
