Cavotec’s advanced 2500+ 400Hz converter comes to the US

Our innovative Cavotec 2500+ 400Hz solid state frequency converter unit continues to gain traction in the global ground support (GSE) market, with the US being the latest in a growing number of countries where the unit is safely and efficiently meeting the greater power demands of modern passenger aircraft.

Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport have both selected the unique electrical and communication technological advances of the 2500+, where the units will power a wide variety of aircraft. Featuring our intuitive Skyway Interface and communication platform, the 2500 + helps these airports to make considerable improvements in operational efficiency and data collection.

“The Skyway Interface is one of our customers’ favourite features of the 2500+ because it provides operators with easy access to the procedures that they use most frequently,” explains Felix Covarrubias, Cavotec’s VP of Global Airport Power Systems.

The 2500+ is already installed at an advanced MRO facility in Germany, where the units provide power for large New Generation Aircraft such as the A380, A350 and B787. The 2500+ will also support the entire aircraft fleet operated at Hong Kong International Airport Midfield Concourse; and it is set for installation at the major Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) development in Dubai.

Operators value the benefits of reliably achieving superior 400Hz electrical performance, as well as the operational efficiencies generated by being able to remotely connect to the 2500+ via Ethernet or wireless, (with tablets or smartphones).
